Opportunities have arisen for a ward clerk within the intestinal failure and acute surgical unit teams at Southampton General Hospital.

The intestinal failure unit delivers a specialist nutritional service and has 17 inpatient beds. The acute surgical unit has 12 beds, receiving patients from the emergency department, clinics and GPs. The role of the ward clerk is pivotal in providing clerical support to these areas, to relieve professional staff of clerical procedures and act as a receptionist to patients and visitors.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently, managing their own workload whilst working in collaboration with the ward teams. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, who work well under pressure, with a desire to provide a first class service for patients and clinical teams.
