R&D Management Accountant

Band 5

Fixed Term 12 months maternity cover

Due to maternity leave, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and professional individual to join the finance team which supports Research and Development at UHS. This is a 12 month fixed term post to cover maternity leave.

The team provides management accountancy services for a budget in excess of £20m, involving a large number of commercially and non-commercially funded clinical studies, grants and other income streams. 

This is a busy role, where you will be expected to have excellent communication skills, capable of discussing budget statements with non-financial senior managers and provide costings for grants and studies. You will need to be able to hit the ground running, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining attention to detail.

You will be:

  • CCAB part qualified or AAT qualified.
  • Experienced in working in a busy finance team.
  • Highly numerate and confident with ledger processes.
  • An excellent communicator.

 This is a full time opportunity of 37.5 hours per week.
