We are proud of our very diverse service that strives to provide safe, high quality and efficient care to women whatever their background or clinical need. We are inclusive of families and fathers and want to ensure that they feel welcome. We host tertiary Maternal, Fetal and Neonatal Medicine which alongside our normalising birth and reducing health inequalities strategy you can be sure of a wide ranging challenging experience.
We have a part time vacancy for a Ward Clerk Administrator working as part of an established diverse team within Maternity Services at the Princess Anne Hospital.
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is willing to be responsible for providing clerical support to the clinical team and undertaking reception and general administration duties.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a supportive, caring and empathetic approach to women and families accessing our service. It is essential that you are keen to promote a positive image of Southampton’s Maternity Services and providing excellent customer service with a can do attitude.
You will be required to participate in making appointments, including organising and/or rescheduling midwifery clinics within the unit and the localities. Therefore familiarity with Microsoft systems is a must and knowledge of NHS systems is desirable, although full training and development will be available for the successful candidate.
Southampton Maternity Services is a busy environment and proven experience in a fast paced customer focused role with previous front of house experience is essential.
We are looking for an individual who is a team player, willing to embrace fresh ideas, engage with change positively and who is able to be flexible with working patterns to suit the service needs.
All shifts are rostered and allocated to cover the service 7 days a week including weekends, late evenings and bank holidays. We regret we are unable to commit to set hours or working patterns to offer a fair allocation of shifts to all the team and to provide an efficient service of support.
