An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant practitioner to join our rapidly expanding team within eye outpatients at University Hospital Southampton.
We are looking for a full time, highly motivated, trustworthy, professional & reliable band 4 assistant practitioner; with an interest in ophthalmology to join our friendly & supportive team. Applicants are required to have completed their foundation degree or equivalent, previous ophthalmology experience is not an essential requirement but a devotion to develop and learn is paramount. There will be specific in house training to develop specialised ophthalmic knowledge & skills. Support to achieve this will be given.
All applicants would need to be committed to teaching and getting involved in the education and development of others as well as themselves. They will also be expected to lead small teams which will require the applicant to be organised, proactive, have a good understanding of accountability and a good role model & support to others.
The successful applicant will be joining a fast moving dynamic outpatient department that continues to change and develop this requiring the successful applicant to be flexible and forward thinking.
