Are you interested in a career in cancer care? Not sure exactly which specialty suits you best, and want a bit more information first? We may have a great opportunity for you.

We have a busy and successful department, and we are looking for doctors to help run our service especially our wards and day units. We are offering a unique experience to come and work with us and gain experience in different specialties. We will work with you to design a rotation giving you varied clinical exposure.

We will assign you an educational supervisor, and set clear learning objectives for your time with us. The majority of your time will be spent caring for inpatients and patients on the day unit, and you will have opportunities to attend clinics or radiotherapy planning, and teaching sessions. You will be able to take part in the on-call rota at a level appropriate for your clinical experience and training.

You will be able to benefit from opportunities to work with colleagues in our cancer sciences department and the new centre for cancer immunotherapy, our stereotactic radiotherapy service, and our bone marrow transplant unit. The Trust is one of the most research active acute trusts in the UK, and a major research centre for the University of Southampton, hosting a Cancer Research UK Centre and an Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre. There will be opportunities to develop your CV.

Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and Right to work in the UK are essential for this role.  Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.
