Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow (SpR level) in Adult Congenital Cardiology 

University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to the post of Clinical Fellow in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). The post would be ideal for those seeking adult congenital experience as part of cardiology training or for those who wish to enhance their skills in ACHD in preparation for their appointment to the Consultant Grade. 

This 6-12 month fellowship will focus on all aspects of ACHD including outpatient and inpatient management including congenital imaging.  This post will be in addition to a designated and numbered ACHD fellow who is in training and 5 consultant staff at UHS.  ACHD functions within the Cardiothoracic Division with 11 cardiologists, 6 cardiac surgeons, 8 paediatric cardiologists and 3 congenital cardiac surgeons. The Congenital Cardiology Departments at University Hospital Southampton and Oxford University Hospital work as a team to provide a regional centre of excellence for congenital cardiology with excellent opportunities for research and training in a collaborative environment. 

The post would be ideally suited to candidates seeking a broad training in cardiology or to those who are approaching CCT looking to enhance their chosen subspecialty. Participation in the on-call rota will be required. 

Research will be encouraged in the post.

Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and Right to work in the UK are essential for this role.  Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.  Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application. 

Senior Trust Fellow

Appointment will be made under Local Contractual Terms and Conditions of Service for Trust Appointed (Non-Training Fellow Doctors and Dentists) which will be published and available at time of offers.

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) Fellows will be paid a basic salary at a Nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)

Basic Salary MT04        £46,208
